I've seen a fair few Hisense tellies come and go in my time. They're decent enough for the money, often punching above their weight when things are working right. But, like all tech, they can throw a wobbly. One of the most annoying, and surprisingly common, issues I've come across is the dreaded reboot loop. You know the one: the Hisense logo flashes up, then it goes black, then the logo again, on and on. It’s like the TV can’t quite get its act together to properly start up. Now, before you go chucking it out the window, there are a few things we can try. I've had good success with these methods on various models, from the cheaper sets I’ve tested for reviews to a couple of the more premium ULEDs I’ve had in my own living room. ## The Simple Stuff First: Power Cycle It sounds daft, I know, but you'd be amazed how often this sorts things out. It’s the old IT crowd trick, isn’t it? "Have you tried turning it off and on again?" With a reboot loop, you can't exactly do that with a button. You need to pull the plug. * **Unplug the TV completely.** Not just turning it off at the wall, but physically removing the power cord from the back of the set. This completely drains any residual power from the capacitors. Think of it as a hard reset for its little brain. * **Wait a good 5-10 minutes.** Go make a brew. Check your phone. The longer the better, really. This ensures everything truly powers down. * **Plug it back in.** See what happens. I’ve fixed more than a few gadgets with this one. It’s always my first port of call. ## The Button Mash: Hard Reset Combination If the power cycle didn't do the trick, sometimes you need to get a bit more aggressive. This next one is about forcing the TV to properly shut down and then try to boot clean. Certain button combinations can sometimes kick a stubborn TV back into life. * **Unplug the TV again.** We're going back to square one. * **Press and hold the power button on the TV itself.** This is important. Don’t use the remote. You’re looking for the actual physical power button on the TV set. Keep it pressed down. * **While still holding the power button, plug the TV back in.** * **Continue holding the power button for about 30-60 seconds after plugging it in.** This sometimes forces the TV into a recovery mode or just clears whatever corrupted state it was in.
