Do you really need waterproof rating of IPX7 on all devices?
IPX7 certified waterproof devices can withstand 1-meter deep water for 30 minutes. IPX8 are also the same with a little more depth and time. But IPX6 are not waterproof and cannot be submerged in water even for a little while. So, if you are looking for a device that is waterproof, go for IPX7 rating. If there are extra charges for IPX8, you should not buy that because mostly you don’t need it. However, if for any special purpose you need IPX8 rated device, then you can go for it.
